"Under this old hat is the head you turned around And the heart you stole away the day we met. Under this old hat's two arms that long to hold you tight, And boots I'd walk the soles off of to be here by your side. And every night in my prayers there's just one thing I ask That the man you love will always be under this old hat" -- Chris Ledoux --

O, Christmas Tree
The branches were not color coded or number coded so it took a long time and a lot of work to get the tree together, but it turned out to be a pretty nice tree, for what we paid for it. It leans to one side, but for $20 I think I can overlook that.
I have never put lights on a tree before, so I left that up to Cody. We used all the lights we had in storage and it only covered the bottom 1/3 of the tree. We went to Walmart and bought a strand of 200 lights. That covered the second 1/3 of the tree, so we had to go back to Walmart, again and buy another strand. That strand covered the top 1/3 of the tree, and then some.
I love having my own Christmas tree, in my own house!

Birthday Cake
My aunt Karen's birthday is november 26th, and mine is the 27th so my grandma had a little birthday dinner for us the Sunday before. She bought us each our own personal cakes, how sweet. I however prefer chocolate, and Karen prefers vanilla, so we ended up switching cakes. :) |

Your'e Never Too Old To Dress Up For Holidays
I wore Cody's chaps and spurs, which i quickly found are not the most comfortable thing to be wearing when walking for 5 and a half hours.
Despite the sores on my feet when i got home, I did get many complements on my costume, and even had an older gentlemen follow me around for a long while telling me about his days as a bull rider and shooting. Im guessing he assumed by my outfit that I was into that sort of thing? Or enjoyed hearing other people's stories about that sort of thing?

Pumpkin Carving
Tonight we carved Pumpkins with my sister-in-law Kory and our nieces. We went to a pumpkin patch and got to pick out our pumpkins. Our nieces got tiny pumpkins and painted them, while the adults carved.

Cody and Steve gutting their pumpkins. |
Cody wanted to carve a diesel truck, so I found a picture of one online and played with the black and white saturation. It turned out great! |
Kory told the boys before started that she'd kill them if they broke her knives. Not 10 minutes later I managed to break one of her knives in half inside my pumpkin! Whoops! |
Cody's truck turned out really good, he used toothpicks to make the grill. Unfortunately before I took this picture some of the grill caved in. |
I started out carving a really cook spider in a web, but quickly learned the web was too intricate for me. The carving kit we bought came with a book of patterns, so I ended up just picking one of them. |
